Santa Cruz De Tenerife

Museo de Bellas Artes

Innovated in 1900 and formerly part of the conterminous church ( note the fabulous stained glass), this excellent gallery has a miscellaneous collection of oils by substantially Spanish, Canarian, and Flemish artists, including Ribera, Sorolla, and Brueghel. There are also forms, including a Rodin, and temporary exhibitions. The massive battle scene oils by Spanish painter Manuel Villegas Brieva are particularly sobering. The galleries are penetrated via several breakouts of stairs and there's no elevator.

Parque García Sanabria PARK(out Calle Méndez Núñez)

On the northern borderline of the megacity center, the megacity demesne is a pleasurable collection of Mediterranean and tropical trees and flowers interspersed with puppets, wide paths, and colorful water features. Tenerife Espacio de las Artes

The highlight of this dramatic ultramodern structure is the excellent art gallery which covers three large and light galleries. Don’t miss the endless exhibition of both the oils and audiovisual shows devoted to the life and work of the Tenerife-born Óscar Domínguez, considered the third topmost surrealist Spanish painter in Spain (after Joan Miró and Salvador Dalí). Temporary exhibitions frequently include over-and-coming Spanish artists and reflect edgily contemporary themes. There's also a cinema, with flicks screened at weekends; a vast library and multimedia room, with 36 internet outstations available for use, free of charge; a popular cafe and an excellent gift shop.

Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción

It’s delicate to miss the striking bell palace of the megacity’s oldest church, which also has traditional Mudéjar (Islamic- style armature) ceiling work. The present church was erected in the 17th and 18th centuries, but the original structure went up in 1498, just after the islet was conquered. At the heart of the shimmering tableware, the balcony is the Santa Cruz de la Conquista (Holy Cross of the Conquest), which dates from 1494 and gives the megacity its name. Check out the lounge to the vestry. The altarpiece in the tabernacle beside it was sculpted from the cedar on the orders of Don Matías Carta, a prominent name who failed before it was completed. He lies buried then and the cadaverous portrayal on the wall was done after his death ( hence the unrestricted eyes and crossed arms). There’s also a fine oil, La Adoración de Los Pastores (The Adoration of the Goatherds) by Juan de Miranda.
