Palermo Cathedral

Teatro Massimo

Selinunte- The Ancient Greek City

People from all over the world come to pay a visit to this ancient Greek city. This city draws up to 300,000 visitors every year and always remains in a tight competition with the Segesta Archaeological Park, fighting for tourists. If you love to learn about historical sites, then Selinunte is the place for you. The city was built around 628 BCE, which approximately 2700 years ago. The city was then a Greek colony that later flourished and became a town. However, the people of Selinunte got engaged with the Elymians in serious wars. After years of fighting and battling with the Elymians, Selinunte was thrown into ruins. But fortunately, many artifacts still continue to exist and thus make the place into a must-visit historical town.
