Denver City Guide And Airport Transfer Service

Denver, nicknamed, The Mile High City, has sunlight 300 days a year, a prosperous culture, and the most beautiful and diverse neighbourhood. Denver, Colorado, is the most populous city in the U.S. with 2,897,000 in 2022. Denver is called a Mile High City for a reason: it is located 5,280 feet above sea level or one can say one mile high. Denver's origin took place because of an almighty metal, gold. If you see the Denver map, you will find it between the two terrains of a river and a creek. The city was discovered in the 1850s at the convergence of Cherry Creek and the South Platte River. When treasure hunters were searching the Kansas Territory, which at the time included what is today Colorado, in 1858, they found mounds of gold. Over the period of two years, the fresh gold fever spread throughout eastern states. Nearly 1 million hopefuls travelled across the rough terrain to the region in search of immediate prosperity. James W. Denver was the territory's governor when the city of Denver, Kansas Territory, was founded. The territory was used by the Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians for summer makeshift camps before being used as an area by General Larimer of the U.S. Army.

After 1858, in an attempt to have Denver City the county seat of the-Arapahoe County, Kansas, the site's name was changed to "Denver City" in honour of Kansas Territorial Governor James W. Denver. Strangely, Denver had already resigned as governor and had no influence in choosing the capital when Larimer named the city after him to win his favour. Further, during the next two centuries, the Denver map was revamped; new territories were marked, new transcontinental railroads were laid, and another metal, silver, was discovered in the city, making it a city in demand once again after the 1850s. The city bloomed through the progressive era in the 20th century, witnessed the Great Depression as well, bore the after-effects of World War II and has thrived since then.

Today we see Denver as an advanced city with incredible infrastructure, a great transportation network, and a bunch of must-visit tourist attractions. You will see a lot of parks in the city, like Cheeseman Park, Washington Park, and Civic Centre Park, which have kept the city connected to the luscious green quilt of nature. Apart from parks, there are many Denver attractions for families which can take up to a couple of days to soak all the vivid history. The museums are proof of that vivid history. Nightlife in Denver is quite exciting, just like the day trips. Multiple places to hang out come alive at night, including dance clubs, nightclubs, breweries, speakeasies, vineyards, and an increasing number of premium cocktail lounges. A huge crowd continues to visit the Grizzly Rose in Denver's north quarter to line dance, enjoy music, and engage in mechanical bull competitions.

The shopping game in Denver is fun as well. It is called the shopping hub of the Rocky Mountain West. All thanks to the plethora of retail experiences available in downtown and the surrounding districts. You won't be able to visit every mall, outlet centre, or independent store in a single day. So keep your credit card ready to swipe multiple times because you will not stop at just a few items. The cuisine of Denver includes both traditional international dishes and unique versions.

While some of the best restaurants are premium places with a romantic ambience, others are simple food trucks. In this Mile High City of Colorado, you will probably find any cuisine you're craving to eat. Empanadas, Tacos, Green Chile, Latin American-style Rotisserie Chicken, sweet & delicious doughnuts, and Rocky Mountain Oysters are some of the must-try delicacies in Denver. You wouldn't find them as tasty in any other city or country. Overall, Denver has something for everyone, regardless of their interests, demographics, or age. If something is happening, it is here.

Train

Trains in Denver are used frequently to cover long distances. The RTD system has multiple rail connections to commute in the city. The Light and Commuter Rails, Denver's first train system, makes it simple for you to get from one area to another or speedily across major thoroughfares like I-70 or I-25. There are currently 13 different rail lines and almost 113 miles of rail in Denver's rail network. The Denver Light Rail is limited and passes through many areas of the Denver metroplex. Denver features multiple stops for a number of Light Rail lines. Light Rail is the most suitable mode of public transport to reach your destinations quickly. Commuter rail routes, on the other hand, are longer and make fewer stops than light rail routes. You can learn about the tickets and fares of the trains on the RTD website. They display two rates for a ticket or route, the first one is the actual rate, while the second is discounted. The tickets are available at the rail stations located across the city.

Airport rail is a kind of RTD rail system. Passengers of the Denver Airport Rail can travel back and forth from the airport to Union Station.

Moreover, it is accessible on any RTD Light Rail or bus for the full day.
